☀️ A refreshingly sunny morning in Urasoe
This morning in Urasoe, it was **sunny with temperatures around 20–21°C**. A slightly strong north-northwesterly wind was blowing, making it feel cool and pleasant. [Weather News](https://weathernews.jp/onebox/tenki/okinawa/47208/)
The air felt lighter than yesterday, and when I stepped out onto the balcony, the sunlight streamed in brightly—it was the perfect day for laundry. Since this is a rare sunny spell during Golden Week, my mood has been lifting since early morning.

🧺 First-thing-in-the-morning Laundry and Memories of an Old Washing Machine
I woke up a little early today to run the washing machine. I had about three days’ worth of laundry piled up, so it was quite a lot, but I managed to fit about 4 kg into our 6 kg machine and finished it in one go. The balcony was filled with laundry, and the room looked a bit dim through the curtains.
Suddenly, I remembered the **SANYO washing machine** we used to have. We’d used it for many years, and it had started getting noisy, so my mother said, “It’s about time we replaced it.” At the local Yamada Denki, we found a “Yamada Original” washing machine with a control panel almost identical to the old model, and my mother chose it, saying, “I’ll be able to figure this one out.”
Nowadays, my mother no longer does the laundry—it’s entirely my responsibility—but I still remember the look of relief on her face back then.

🍞 Breakfast and My Mother’s Leisurely Morning Routine
Perhaps because the weather is nice, my mother seemed to be in relatively good spirits this morning and woke up a little after I did.
She told me she was “going to the hair salon,” so she plans to get her hair dyed today. She’s moving slowly, sitting down and standing up repeatedly as she gets ready, but it looks like she’s recovered quite a bit from yesterday’s malaise.
For breakfast, I had **Nakayoshi bread and coffee**, while my mother had bread, tea, and a banana. She left half of the bread, but she ate the rest thoroughly. After that, she took her medicine, checked her blood pressure, took a breather while watching TV, and then took a shower. We’re planning to head to the salon around 10 a.m.

🛒 Morning Plans and Shopping
The laundry is done, so I should be able to spend the morning relaxing—writing my blog and configuring my computer. Since there aren’t many dishes, I plan to run the dishwasher for both breakfast and lunch.
I’ll go out for a bit of shopping this afternoon. We’re out of thinly sliced pork, so I’d like to restock. In Okinawa,
- Okinawan “Churabuta”
- American “Corn-fed Pork”**
are the two standard choices.
Pork goes well with my usual vegetable chanpuru, so I naturally end up using it a lot. I don’t dislike beef, but I only really eat it at yakiniku restaurants—it doesn’t make many appearances at home.

🌿 The rainy season is approaching—treasure the sunny days
According to the weather forecast, today and tomorrow will be sunny, but after that, cloudy and rainy days are expected to increase—**it looks like Okinawa is about to enter the rainy season**. [weather.yahoo.co.jp](https://weather.yahoo.co.jp/weather/jp/47/9110/47208.html)
Since we’re lucky to have this sunny spell, I want to make the most of it by doing laundry, going out, and tackling other tasks with a cheerful attitude.
