Shopping in the afternoon

🌤 Afternoon shopping｜A peaceful time spent at Kiyuna Sanei and Joyful

I went shopping this afternoon.
The weather was nice and traffic was heavy, so I thought a less crowded spot would be better and headed to Sanei in Kiyuna, Ginowan.

This spot has Sanei, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Joyful, and a coin laundry all lined up together. It’s not huge, but it’s a very convenient location. Surprisingly, it’s not crowded, and the stores aren’t busy either, so I like how smoothly I can get my shopping done. It’s also a place I often use on holidays.

🍽 Relaxed Lunch at Joyful

Since I didn’t have much shopping to do, I decided to eat first.
When I arrived, there were five groups waiting, but after finishing my shopping and returning, I got seated immediately with zero wait time.

Mom ordered the Daily Lunch Special (Hamburger Steak, Croquette, Rice, Salad).
I ordered the Pepper Hamburger Steak with Rice.

We also got the drink bar. When I asked what she wanted to drink while we waited for the food,
she said, “I’m parched, so I’ll have orange juice.”
So they brought two servings, and we drank together while waiting.

The food arrived shortly after.
We hadn’t ordered miso soup or regular soup, so instead I brought her some Ume Kombu Tea. Surprisingly, she liked it and drank it.

She seemed hungry and ate heartily:

Half a croquette
Two-thirds of the hamburger steak
The salad
And finished all the rice.
I ate the leftovers.
It’s reassuring when she eats this much every time, but her appetite varies daily, so I watch her and adjust—sometimes making ochazuke (tea-soaked rice) instead.

After the meal, I had coffee, and Mom had two cups of tea.
It was hot today, so staying hydrated was important.

We finished everything.

🌞 A clear, sunny afternoon and Mom’s health

There were a few clouds in the morning, but the afternoon was clear as far as the eye could see.
Mom even said it was hot and took off her jacket.

Okinawa keeps alternating between warm and suddenly cold, making it easy to get sick this time of year.
Days like today, with stable weather, are truly a blessing.

🧺 Today’s Summary

Since the weather is good, I’ll bring in the laundry in about an hour.
It should be completely dry by then.

Afternoon shopping, lunch, and a clear blue sky.
It was a peaceful and pleasant day.
