Morning Scene

Good morning.
This morning in Urasoe, the forecast called for a temperature of 20°C and wind speeds of 4-5 m/s, but in reality, it was a calm morning with hardly any wind to be felt. The term “gentle breeze” fits perfectly. Thin clouds spread across the sky, and it looks like they’ll gradually increase as the afternoon approaches.

After waking up, I first boiled water and prepared a simple breakfast with the Mister Donut and coffee I bought yesterday. I made my mother some honey tea and called out to her, but she wasn’t waking up easily today. “You can get up once, eat breakfast, take your medicine, and then go back to sleep,” I told her. Finally, she got up.

“I want to sleep more,” she grumbled, but she went to the bathroom, ate breakfast, took her medicine, and returned to bed. With the TV on, she drifted in and out of sleep. She took a bath before noon, and only then did she finally start moving around—it seems she’s slowly returning to her usual routine, which is reassuring.

Since there’s no laundry today, I started writing my blog slowly while running the dishwasher.

🚗 Farmers Market Situation During the Three-Day Weekend

Japan has a three-day weekend including Saturday. I’d like to visit a farmers market somewhere, but today events are overlapping everywhere, and traffic jams are predicted.

  • Itoman Farmers Market
A spring training game is at the nearby stadium, so the area is expected to be congested with traffic + tourists. Decided to skip it this time.
  • Okinawa City Farmers Market
Information says there’s a festival on Gate Street. Traffic restrictions are also expected, so I’m giving this one up too.
  • Yomitan Farmers Market
The Yachimun Pottery Fair is happening, so parking will definitely be packed. Traffic is expected to peak in the morning, so this one seems tough too.

Narrowing down the options leaves us with
“Nishihara,” “Yonabaru,” and “Haebaru”.

Nishihara and Yonabaru are especially convenient for shopping routes, with supermarkets nearby. However, all locations are expected to be crowded, so we’ll likely decide based on real-time traffic updates just before heading out.

🌸 Cherry Blossoms and Bird Visitors

This morning, the cherry blossoms were about 80% in bloom and absolutely beautiful. Birds came close to the balcony, and I wanted to take a photo, but they flew away the moment they sensed I was about to step outside.
I’d be happy with just one shot, but timing seems tricky today.

Even so, just the color of the cherry blossoms and the presence of the birds soothe my heart from the morning. Feeling these small seasonal changes like this reminds me how important these moments are in daily life.

✍️ Today’s Summary

The morning of the first day of the three-day weekend flows with calm air and a leisurely pace. Mom’s health is gradually returning to her usual rhythm, so it looks like it will be a day I can spend feeling reassured.

For the farmers market, I plan to choose a place I can reach without pushing myself, keeping an eye on traffic conditions. The cherry blossoms are also at their peak, so if I manage to take any photos, I’d like to post them on the blog again.
