🍱 A little mishap before lunch
I spent the morning writing my blog and completely forgot to turn on the rice cooker.
Around 11:30, my mom woke up and said, “I’m hungry.” That’s when I finally realized, and hurried to Hotto Motto.
I bought:
– Demi-glace sauce hamburger steak
– Ginger Pork Bento
Since the rice and side dishes were separate, we shared them between the two of us.
After eating, I gave her her medicine, and Mom went back to bed. She seemed to rest for a while.
☔ Shopping at Sanei Kyozuka in the Rain
I went outside to run errands while Mom slept, only to find it raining harder than expected.
I grabbed an umbrella, headed to the parking lot, and drove to Sanei Kyozuka.
The parking lot wasn’t crowded, but perhaps due to the rain forecast, there seemed to be more cars than usual.
“That’s why the flat parking lot had an ‘available’ sign,” I realized.
I’d done a quick fridge check before shopping, so I started buying things to replenish what we needed.
My usual style is to look at the discount stickers and mentally simulate when we’ll eat it before deciding.
What I bought today:
– Shinjo (fish paste)
– Cucumber pickles in rice bran (half price because the expiration date was approaching)
– Bacon
– Milk (medium size)
That was pretty much it for my shopping.

☕ Taking a break at Starbucks
Since I was full, I stopped by Starbucks just for coffee.
The young customer ahead of me placed an order that sounded like a spell, making me a bit nervous.
When it was my turn, I simply said, “Hot coffee, small,” and got my order without issue.
Sitting down, I noticed young people on both sides of me tapping away at their laptops.
I sipped my coffee while wondering, “I wonder if these folks are making good money?” It was a quiet moment like that.

🏠 After Getting Home
When I got home, Mom was still asleep.
I decided, “I should wake her up so she doesn’t stay up too late,” and woke her.
After that, I gave Mom the flowers for Dad’s Buddhist altar for her to arrange, put away the groceries, and took a short break.
I checked Instagram and TikTok, nodded along to Mom’s stories, and spent a relaxed time until dinner prep.

⚾ WBC Exhibition Game in the Evening
Since Mom had mentioned since morning that she wanted to watch the WBC exhibition game,
we finished dinner early and got ready in front of the TV.
I sat in my usual chair, looking forward to the game starting.

A lightweight, foldable shopping bag is very useful for grocery trips. It’s easy to carry and has enough space for daily items.

A small insulated cooler bag is helpful when buying refrigerated items, especially in Okinawa’s warm afternoons.
