☁️ This Morning’s Weather and the Forecast Ahead
Looking outside this morning in Okinawa, the sky is overcast and gloomy. It’s raining, and the temperature is 23°C. While the high is only 25°C—not a significant change—the wind and rain are strong, making for an unsettling morning.
According to the weather forecast, there’s a possibility of a warning being issued later, so it looks like the skies will remain unsettled all day today.
Looking at the two-week forecast, it’s expected to clear up for this weekend, but after that, cloudy and rainy days are likely to continue. If you’re visiting Okinawa during Golden Week, don’t forget your rain gear. Since sudden downpours and flash floods can occur, please drive with extra caution.

🍞 A Leisurely Start to the Morning and Mom’s Breakfast
Since we had a slow start this morning, Mom didn’t get up until around the time the morning drama started.
I warmed up some bread and offered her a muffin, but after one bite, she said, “I don’t want this.” There was some walnut bread left over from yesterday, so I had her eat that instead, and she finished off the pumpkin soup and yogurt. I was relieved to see she ate well today.
She has her “100-Year-Old Exercise” class later, and even though she said, “I wonder if I should go…? I have a headache,” she was still getting ready, so she was half-leaning toward going.
When I told her, “If you start feeling sick, just come back home,” she seemed to feel a little better and appeared ready to go.

🌧️ Plans for a Rainy Day and How to Spend Time at the Laundromat
It’s raining all day today, so we don’t have any specific plans to go out. We decided to postpone the laundry until tomorrow.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll check the weather and run the washing machine, then head to the laundromat when the rain stops.
I’ll probably go to the laundromat at Kyozuka San-A. While waiting for the dryer to finish, I can relax at Mister Donut or Starbucks, which helps lift my spirits even on a rainy day.
I used to go to the nearby Make Man and kill time at the Tully’s next door at San-A, but since that closed, Kyozuka San-A has become my new go-to spot.

👟 Yesterday’s Shopping and New Shoes
Yesterday, on my way home from shopping at San-A, my mom told me, “Go buy some shoes—yours are getting old, aren’t they?” so I stopped by the Tokyo Shoe Distribution Center (Uehara, Ginowan City).
Back when my dad was still with us, it was our habit that whenever he’d look at the soles of his shoes and realize, “These are starting to get slippery,” I’d whisper in his ear, “Let’s go buy some shoes,” and we’d go together. Since my dad passed away, I hadn’t been able to figure out the right time to replace mine, but I finally bought a new pair.
I found a pair that fit perfectly in the clearance section among the limited-stock items, so I decided on the spot. A sales clerk told me, “If you download the app, you can use points on your next purchase,” and since the store was quiet, I downloaded the app right then and there to get my points. Now I’m looking forward to my next shopping trip a little bit.
🏠 Taking it easy on rainy days
It’s raining all day today, so I plan to stay in and only go out if absolutely necessary.
On days like this, I’ll relax at home and tackle small tasks bit by bit. With the changes in atmospheric pressure, I want to spend the day taking care of my health.
