A southerly breeze is blowing a bit strongly, though not strong enough to be considered a gale, and the sun is streaming through the sky, creating a refreshing summer morning. Although the end of the rainy season hasn’t been officially declared yet, the lightness of the air and the intensity of the sunlight already give the distinct feeling that the rainy season is over. Seasonal transitions often affect our daily rhythms, and how we spend our mornings tends to be influenced by the weather. Today, I’ll be documenting what this morning is like in Urasoe, Okinawa, and how it fits into my daily life. MSN Weather

🌤️ The Morning Sky and Today’s Seasonal Feel in Urasoe, Okinawa
This morning was a refreshing one—the kind that makes you want to say out loud, “This feels great!” for the first time in a while.
Although there were quite a few clouds, the blue sky was clearly visible, with a brightness typical of a summer sky. Although the humidity is on the high side, the breeze keeps it from feeling oppressive, giving the impression of a precious sunny break amidst the rainy season.
I woke up a few times during the night to use the restroom, so I was feeling a bit sleep-deprived this morning, but the brightness outside seemed to nudge me out of bed. When it was time to wake my mother up, she was unusually reluctant, whining, “I don’t want to get up—I want to sleep.”
I told her, “You can go back to sleep after you eat breakfast and take your medicine,” and after a few back-and-forths, she finally got up.
Breakfast was soup and melon bread. My mom only ate half a piece of melon bread—it seemed her desire to “sleep today” had won out. After taking her medicine and having her blood pressure checked, she went right back to bed to rest while watching TV. Since health tends to fluctuate during seasonal changes, it’s best for her to take it easy and not push herself.

📱 Be Careful with Cell Phone Issues Involving Elderly Family Members
For the past few days, there’s been an increase in suspicious calls to the cell phone I gave my mom.
I’ve told her, “Don’t answer calls from anyone other than family. If you answer by mistake, hang up right away,” but since she has trouble hearing, I often end up answering the phone for her at home.
When she goes out, I have her carry the phone in her bag in case she gets lost and needs to contact me, but the other day she received a call from an international number starting with “+.” When I looked it up, I found out it was apparently a number claiming to be from Amazon. However, I don’t recall registering her phone with that number, and she has no purchase history with them.
After consulting with someone, I learned it might be a scam call using international call forwarding, so I set it to reject incoming calls and blocked the suspicious number. Recently, there have been more TV specials on scam calls, and we’re truly in an “era where we need to be careful even with phone calls.”
Since there seem to be many scams targeting the elderly, please be careful in your own households as well.
