🌤️Refreshing morning air
Good morning.
This morning is windless, with dazzling sunlight—truly pleasant weather. Stepping outside, the air is crisp and refreshing, inviting deep breaths. While winter in Okinawa brings daily temperature swings, today started off mild and comfortable.
First thing this morning, I washed the blankets. With no wind, the sunlight hits them perfectly, so they should be dry by evening. Days like this make housework go smoothly, lifting my spirits a bit from the morning.
🛒 Afternoon shopping and choosing a bed cover for Mom
This afternoon, I plan to go to Nitori to pick out a bed cover for Mom.
Just changing the cover can transform the room’s atmosphere, so I want to choose something calming for her, considering the color and material. I also intend to rethink the placement and arrangement a bit, aiming to create a more comfortable space for her.
Mom doesn’t go out much usually, but refreshing her surroundings like this helps change her mood. Even within caregiving, these small changes help establish a rhythm in daily life, making it a time I want to cherish.
🌸 Cherry Blossom Buds Visible from the Balcony
The cherry blossoms visible from the balcony are still just buds.
Some areas seem to be starting to bloom already, but our cherry tree is always a bit late. Even so, watching the buds gradually swell is a pleasure, and observing them each morning has become a daily ritual.
Perhaps the beauty of late bloomers is being able to savor the time until they bloom. They should be in full bloom by next month, ready for photos, so I’m looking forward to that day.
🚗 Evening Outing and Family Time
My younger brother came over today, so the three of us went for a drive to buy a bedspread and then went out to eat.
Since it’s usually just my mother and me at home, she seems happy when the family gathers like this. Breathing the fresh air, seeing the scenery, sharing a few laughs—I think this time together helped lift her spirits.
The days of caregiving can easily become monotonous, but just having family visit changes the atmosphere. My mother’s expression softens, and it’s a precious time that lightens my own mood too.
Summary
The weather was beautiful from morning, making it a pleasant day for laundry, shopping, and other tasks.
The cherry blossoms on the balcony are still in bud, but feeling the season slowly progress is one of the joys. I think the afternoon shopping and time with family were a nice change of pace for Mom too.
I want to continue living each day tomorrow, cherishing the small changes and peaceful moments found within the everyday.
