🌅 Morning Scenery|A refreshing day greeted in sunny Okinawa

Good morning.
This morning in Okinawa is sunny, with almost no wind, and the morning sunlight is dazzling.
The air is clear, and I’ve welcomed a very refreshing morning.

The weather forecast predicts a temperature of 20°C and sunny skies all day.
Wind speeds are said to be 2-4 m/s, but in reality, it’s just a slight breeze, making for warm and comfortable weather.

☀ Morning Conditions and Mother’s Health

I woke up around 7:30 this morning. First, I started the washing machine, then watched a bit of the morning news while preparing breakfast.
Around that time, my mother woke up. She seemed to be in good spirits today, with no headache, and got up easily.

After she ate breakfast and took her medicine, I asked if she wanted to go shopping this afternoon. She replied, “I’ll go with you.”
On days like this with good weather, my mother’s condition is stable, and she seems to be in a good mood.

🧘‍♀️ The “Century Exercise” my mother participates in

Today, the “Century Exercise” is again in the meeting room downstairs in the apartment building.
I’m not sure if it’s unique to Okinawa, but it seems to be held in various municipalities. Participants follow the movements of an instructor shown on video.

After the exercise, they chat, and she’ll be back home by mid-morning.
Today, she left energetically, free of headaches.

Feeling the outside air from the balcony was truly refreshing.
“It’s just down to the meeting room in the building, so a light jacket will be fine,” I called out as I saw her off.

👕 The morning air I felt while hanging laundry

After the wash finished, I hung the laundry on the balcony. With no wind, I could clearly hear the voices of nearby elementary school kids.
I wondered if they were playing tag during recess as I hung the laundry.

The clear blue sky and white clouds were absolutely beautiful,
and in this crisp air, the laundry should dry nicely.
It’s truly a pleasant morning.

🌸 The state of the cherry blossoms beside the apartment building

The cherry blossoms beside my apartment building are still in that “slowly but surely” phase today.
A few more blossoms have opened since the other day, but they’re still far from full bloom, opening at a leisurely pace.
This slow pace feels very Okinawan to me.

🛒 Today’s Shopping and Lunch Plans

This afternoon, I plan to go shopping with my mother.
Today’s shopping list includes ham or bacon, milk, fish, rice, and such.
For breakfast, we alternate between bread and rice. On rice days, it’s usually “thinly sliced bacon omelet and grilled fish,” while bread days involve toasting bread with butter. I have coffee, and my mother has tea.
Lately, prices have been rising, making shopping harder.

After shopping, my mother and I plan to have lunch together at the food court before heading home.
Year by year, the things she can eat are decreasing, and choosing from the menu takes time,
but even so, I feel grateful just that she eats at all.

🌼 Summary

Today is sunny and warm, and my mother seems to be in good health, so it looks like it will be a pleasant day.
Days when she can go out within reasonable limits, like doing the 100-Year-Old Exercise or shopping, are good stimulation for her too.
