🏪 Finalizing the Air Conditioner Contract at Yamada Denki

In the afternoon, I headed to the Yamada Denki Ura-Nishi Store to sign a contract for the air conditioner I’d seen and liked the other day. When I entered the store and made my way to the air conditioner section, they called over a sales representative, who attended to me politely after a short wait.

The model I wanted to purchase was the **Fujitsu General air conditioner** I had decided on the day before. After filling out my address and phone number and explaining that it was for installation in an apartment and that we would be removing the existing unit to replace it, they explained the installation and disposal fees.

I mentioned that I wanted to **mount it on the upper part of the wall** rather than placing it on the balcony floor, and was told there might be an additional charge. They explained that the final cost would be determined after the installation crew confirmed the details on-site, and I agreed to that.

In Okinawa, it’s said that “placing it lower is better because rain washes away the salt,” but since we have another room in our home with a wall-mounted unit that works perfectly fine, I decided to go with the same setup this time.

When I asked for the “earliest possible” installation date, it was **set for Tuesday**. The installer will contact us later to confirm the time. I heard that during the height of summer, the wait can be over two weeks, so I felt really glad we were able to sign the contract now.

🍜 A Relaxing Lunch at the Food Court

We finished signing the contract around 1:00 PM. The Aeon next door has a food court-style area with Hanamaru Udon and Yoshinoya side by side, so we decided to have lunch there.

My mother said she wanted a beef bowl, so she ordered the **small beef bowl, miso soup, and pickles set**. I went to Hanamaru Udon and chose **kakiage, croquette, rice ball, and a small hot buckwheat noodle bowl**.

The restaurant was relatively empty, with just a few families, elderly couples, and groups of high school girls. The atmosphere was calm, and we were able to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace.

🛒 Shopping at Aeon and a Break at Mister Donut

After lunch, we did a little shopping at Aeon. We didn’t buy anything major, but I found **eggs for 298 yen**, so I bought those, and I also picked up a small carton of milk while I was at it.

After that, we took a break at Mister Donut. I ordered coffee, my mother ordered iced tea, and we shared one donut between us. Little moments like this are a nice change of pace for both my mother and me.

🏠 Mom’s Condition After Returning Home and Evening Chores

When we got home, Mom seemed a little tired and said, “I’m going to take a nap,” so she rested in bed for about two hours. After waking up, she spent some time relaxing while watching TV as usual, and she seemed to have regained some of her energy.

I brought in the laundry I’d hung out this morning, but the jeans weren’t quite dry, so I decided to leave them out until tonight. The forecast calls for cloudy skies and rain starting in the afternoon tomorrow, so I’m glad I was able to bring them in today.

🍚 Dinner and Wrapping Up the Day

For dinner, we kept it simple with **stir-fried vegetables, mozuku seaweed miso soup, and rice**. Even though my mom said, “I’m not going to eat that much,” she actually ate more than I expected. We started our meal after making an offering at my father’s Buddhist altar, and it turned into a peaceful dinner time.

After cleaning up and running the dishwasher, I finally got a chance to relax. Right now, I’m listening to music while writing this blog post.

Thanks for another day’s hard work.
