■ This Morning’s Weather and Air

This morning’s temperature is 19°C, with a forecast of cloudy skies turning to rain.
Looking outside, the road is wet, suggesting it rained once around dawn.

It’s not cold and quite comfortable, though the laundry is only half-dry.
I plan to go to the laundromat this afternoon and do some shopping while I’m out.

■ Mom’s Morning Routine

Mom woke up before me this morning and was watching TV.
After bringing in the damp laundry, she boiled water—seemed like she was in the mood for green tea today.

Breakfast was:

• A perfectly square marble loaf
• Yogurt + frozen fruit + honey
• Banana

She took just one bite of the bread and said, “I don’t want any,” so I ate the rest.
Still, she took her medicine, so I’ll call this morning a success.

■ Morning Routine

After breakfast, Mom walked around the house with the vacuum cleaner.
After that, she must have gotten tired and rested in bed while watching TV.

As usual, I think she’ll sleep for about an hour.
I’ll wake her around 11:00 for her shower.
After lunch is her daycare day, so after sending her off, I plan to go shopping and to the coin laundry.

■ Sky and Cherry Blossoms from the Balcony

Looking up at the sky from the balcony, there was just a small patch of blue amidst the clouds.
But it seems a truly clear blue sky is still a ways off.

In that gray light,
the pink of the cherry blossom buds just starting to open stood out vividly.
The petals are gradually increasing, delighting my eyes once again today.
