The view from the balcony this morning was of a bright sky, though slightly overcast.
There were quite a few clouds, but the breeze was pleasant, and it was a comfortable morning without any chill.
The weather forecast calls for a temperature of 22°C, with a high of 24°C.
“Sunny, then cloudy” with winds of 8 m/s. It’s supposed to be cloudy until Saturday, the day after tomorrow, and rainy after that.
It looks like it might rain this weekend.

☕ A Leisurely Start to the Morning and How Mom Is Doing
Today is a day without day care, so we took it easy in the morning.
Since it was sunny, Mom got up on her own without me having to prompt her.
I reminded her to use the restroom, had her sit in her chair, and then prepared breakfast.
This morning, we had bread and coffee.
After breakfast, Mom said she wanted to “wash the rugs,” so
I put the small rugs from the bathroom and toilet into the washing machine.
While they were washing, Mom wandered around the room with the vacuum cleaner.
Today is one of those days when she’s in a good mood.

📝 Discussion with the Care Manager
The other day, the care manager came by for the usual update and to discuss future plans.
There were no particular issues, so we decided to maintain the status quo.
My mother said, “If I go to day care any more than I already do, I’ll get tired,” so she’s currently only attending for half-days.
I mentioned that eventually, she’ll need to switch to full-day care.
My father used to go to a full-day day care facility;
they’d pick him up in the morning, he’d have lunch there, and come home in the evening.
It would be a big help if my mother could go too, but she’s refusing for now.

⚡ Notice of Power Outage Next Week
Last night, I found a flyer in the mailbox saying, “The power will be shut off.”
Apparently, there will be a power outage lasting about 30 to 40 minutes around this time next week due to the replacement of the building’s transformer.
I plan to adjust the food in the fridge so there’s less left by then,
and get through it by not opening the fridge during the outage.

🍲 Today’s Prep and Tomorrow’s Plans
I started this morning by parboiling the meat.
Since I plan to make **a broth with daikon, kelp, and soki (pork spare ribs)** tomorrow,
I’ll be fully prepared if I just cook the meat in the pressure cooker today.
I’ll buy some kelp at lunchtime, soak it in water, and tie it up—then it’ll be almost done.
It might also be nice to add soba noodles to make **soki soba**.
I’ll look forward to continuing this tomorrow.

📝 Summary
