🌤 The Morning Sky and Wind
The sky visible from the balcony is mostly cloudy.
Every now and then, the sun shines brightly, and I can see dark clouds in the distance—it looks like it might rain a little.
The wind is strong, and the cherry trees are swaying vigorously.
🧺 Laundry and the Morning Rush
I woke up early to start the washing machine and check the weather forecast.
It’s supposed to be cloudy today, with rain starting tomorrow, so I really want to get the laundry dry today if possible.
When I actually went out to hang it up, the wind was stronger than I expected. There were even gusts, and there was a lot of laundry hanging out at other apartments too—
it felt like everyone was thinking, “Finally got to do laundry after the typhoon.”
I made sure to secure everything properly against the wind before hanging it out.
☕ Breakfast and Checking on Mom
I prepared croissants and coffee and woke Mom up.
She took a while to get up, but finally made it to breakfast.
I served her tea and soup, and she finished everything, albeit slowly.
I reminded her to take her medicine, and that was that.
💻 Computer Class and Exam Prep
Off to computer class again this morning.
The exam is coming up, and she’s right on the borderline—she really wants to pass.
We also discussed moving on to Excel after she takes the exam next month.
👵 Mom’s Health and “100-Year-Old Exercises”
Mom is getting back on her feet, but there are still many days when she isn’t quite back to normal.
Today was supposed to be “100-Year-Old Exercises” day, but she ended up skipping it and resting until noon.
She seems to be feeling pretty tired.
🍚 Lunch and Afternoon Chores
For lunch, we kept it simple with whatever we had on hand.
I made my mom some frozen beef bowl, and for myself, I made kitsune udon using frozen udon noodles.
After that, while my mom walked around the house with the vacuum cleaner,
I took out the trash and sorted through plastic bottles and cardboard boxes.
We did a quick cleanup together, had a snack, and by the time I brought in the laundry, it was already evening.
🍳 Dinner and Wrapping Up the Day
Dinner was “stir-fried spinach and pork.”
We cleared the table, and that wrapped up the day.
✨ Summary
Amid the strong winds after the typhoon, from doing laundry to taking care of my mom, attending computer class, and doing housework—
it was a busy yet carefully spent day.
Like a ray of light breaking through the clouds, small steps forward in everyday life.
