☀️This Morning’s Sky and Temperature
This morning in Okinawa, the sky is clear with a few passing clouds, making for refreshing weather.
The wind is a bit strong, and every time it blows through the balcony, it feels like the air becomes lighter.
The temperature is 24°C, with a forecast high of 27°C.
The sunlight is strong enough that you need long sleeves when driving, and UV rays are getting seriously intense.
It’s the season when veteran housewives start using arm covers.

🧘♂️ A Morning That Started Slowly
Today, I woke up late—a rare occurrence.
With almost no laundry or dishes to do, it’s a quiet and peaceful start.
Mom got up on her own to use the restroom, then sat in her chair to prepare breakfast.
I set out coffee, bread, yogurt, and a banana, but she said she wouldn’t eat the bread.
I had the bread and coffee that had been offered at Dad’s Buddhist altar, and it was a moment of quiet relief.

👵 Mom’s Health and Preparing for Summer
Mom is scheduled for day care this afternoon, but it depends on how she feels that day.
This morning, she said, “I’m going to take a little nap,” and lay down again.
Every year, as the heat really sets in, her stamina tends to drop,
and she seems to feel best when her weight is around 42–43 kg.
If she continues to feel unwell during the height of summer, her weight can drop to the low 40s,
so I’m worried when she keeps saying, “I feel sick, I don’t want to eat.”
I keep trying to find ways to get her to eat as much as possible on the days she’s feeling well.
When necessary, I also use nutritional supplements like “Mei Balance” and “Isocal.”
When my father was alive, we used to buy them by the box, so I’m considering doing the same this year.

🌿 The View from the Balcony
Against a slightly overcast sky, the deepening tips of the cherry blossoms sway in the breeze.
It was a morning where strong gusts of wind occasionally swept through the balcony, bringing a refreshing coolness.
The nights have been hot, and there are more and more days when I have to run the fan all night long.
Although the humidity isn’t high, it still feels somewhat uncomfortable to sleep.
I’ve been hearing more and more people on the radio saying they “leave the air conditioner on while sleeping,”
so it’s about time I had the air conditioner cleaned.
Since the rainy season starts around Golden Week in Okinawa, I’d like to get it done before then.

🛒 Afternoon Plans
Yesterday, I went to San-A in Ginowan, but my mother started feeling unwell halfway through, so we couldn’t finish our shopping.
I plan to go out again this afternoon.
It looks like it’s going to be a busy afternoon.

📝 Summary
It’s a breezy yet refreshing morning in Okinawa.
I started the day slowly, keeping an eye on my mother’s health.
Before the heat really sets in, I’d like to gradually make preparations for summer,
such as finding ways to maintain my stamina and cleaning the air conditioner.
