☁ This Morning’s Weather
This morning in Urasoe City started off mostly cloudy. The temperature is around 27°C, with a slightly strong south-southwesterly wind blowing at 4–5 m/s.
The weather from 7:00 to 9:00 AM was cloudy, with occasional glimpses of blue sky, but light rain could be seen falling in the distance, suggesting the skies will remain changeable throughout the day. Japan Weather Association tenki.jp
Humidity is high at around 90%, maintaining that typical rainy season atmosphere. The forecast calls for more periods of light rain as the afternoon progresses, so it’s a good idea to bring a folding umbrella when heading out. Japan Weather Association tenki.jp

🍞 A Slow Morning Breakfast
I started off a little slower this morning. I boiled water and brewed coffee while watching the news, and had a croissant for breakfast.
My mother often says, “It’s hard to eat bread first thing in the morning,” but she’ll make an exception for croissants. She has her quirks—she won’t drink corn soup but will drink other types of potage—and I feel that, just like my father, her food preferences are becoming more particular as she gets older.
After breakfast, as usual, we spent a leisurely time in bed watching TV until noon. He hadn’t been feeling well for the past few days, but he seemed a little better today, which was a relief.

🌀 After Typhoon Cleanup
Since the typhoon passed, I’ve been running around nonstop with so much to do—cleaning up, doing laundry, and hosing down areas exposed to the sea breeze.
Because it rained continuously, it took a while to wash the salt off the exterior, but I’ve finally managed to get that part done.
It looks like the end of the rainy season is still a ways off; judging by the forecast, it’s expected to stay cloudy and rainy next week as well. It feels like the rainy season might not end until around the middle of this month.

🥬 Afternoon Plans & Shopping
I’m heading out for some shopping this afternoon. We’ve run out of vegetables, so I plan to go to the farmers’ market, but I’m a little worried about how much will be available due to the typhoon.
Before the rainy season began,
green peppers, cabbage, carrots, komatsuna, new onions, and water spinach—
all Okinawan-grown vegetables—were cheap and plentiful, but I wonder how it will be today.
Before that, I’ll stop by Kyozuka San-A to pick up my laundry from Marusan Laundry, and then head to the market from there.
Mom seems to be feeling well today, so we’re getting ready to go out together. Since we haven’t been able to go out much lately due to the typhoon and her being at day care, today should be a nice change of pace.

🏡 Morning Chores & Today’s Goal
I still have some chores left to do this morning, but I plan to make steady progress while gradually getting everything ready for our outing this afternoon.
Ideally, I’d like to get one more post out this evening or tonight.
It’s a time when both the weather and my health are a bit unstable, but let’s do our best today without pushing ourselves too hard.
