☁ The Morning Air and Today’s Weather
This morning in Urasoe, the sky is overcast and heavy with moisture.
According to the Japan Weather Association, **the morning will be cloudy with extremely high humidity of 95–97% and temperatures around 26°C**.
Starting just before noon, sunlight began to peek through the clouds, and with a **forecast high of 31°C**, it looks like it will be a full-fledged summer day.
With winds blowing from the south-southwest at 4–6 m/s, the conditions certainly explained that “sticky, clinging” feeling on my skin.
The sun peeked through the clouds from time to time, so it wasn’t completely overcast, but
it was a morning where that “humid air before the rain” slowly seeped into the room.
🧺 Morning Chores and How I’m Feeling
I woke up a little early today and started by running the washing machine.
My lower back pain has been lingering, and getting out of bed is painful, but once I start moving, it feels a little better.
I pressed the start button on the washing machine, turned on the TV, and checked my emails while drinking some water.
After that, I opened the windows and the front door to let the breeze in, but the muggy heat still prevailed.
For breakfast, I debated whether to make my usual grilled salmon, but decided on an omelet instead.
I’m happy to see my mother’s appetite slowly returning, and she’s been eating more.
That said, she’s still complaining of “headaches and feeling sick,” so after she finished eating, she took her medicine and I checked her blood pressure.
She said, “I’m going back to sleep,” so I helped her to bed, turned on the TV, and let her rest.
She’ll probably spend the morning relaxing in bed watching TV.
🚗 A Break at the Laundromat and Starbucks
I took the laundry to the coin-operated laundromat at Kyozuka Sanei.
The F2 parking lot wasn’t crowded, and I was lucky to find a spot near the elevator.
The store was quiet too; a seasoned housewife was just leaving.
I set the timer for 30 minutes and headed to Starbucks to drink coffee while drafting my blog post.
The shop was quiet, with a calm atmosphere as a few people worked on their laptops.
When the alarm went off and I went back to get my laundry, a few machines were in use, but overall it was empty,
so I was able to collect everything smoothly. I returned to my seat to continue writing my blog—that was the flow of my morning.
🏥 Day Care Worries and Today’s Schedule
This afternoon is my mother’s day care day, but she’s adamant: “I’m not going, I’m taking a break, I have a headache.”
She’s skipped the last few sessions, so I’d really like her to go, but
since it depends on how she feels at the time, I can’t force her—it’s a real dilemma.
Tomorrow is “Ikiiki Health Club,” and the day after that is “Century-Old Exercises,” but
it looks like she’ll be skipping them again this week.
However, my mother’s younger sister (my aunt) is planning to come by tomorrow evening to check on her, so
I’ll get dinner ready to welcome her.
🔧 Car Repairs and a Little Peace of Mind
I took my car in for repairs yesterday,
and I received a call saying, “The same issue has resurfaced in the area we repaired last time, but since it’s still under warranty, it’s free.”
I felt a bit guilty, so I asked them to add an oil change and filter replacement,
and the estimate came to about 8,000 yen.
I usually change the oil myself, but this time I decided to leave it to the pros.
🌿 Today’s Summary
The day started with a typically humid Okinawan morning,
and between housework, taking care of my mother, going to the laundromat, and getting the car repaired,
I realized I’d already managed to get a lot done just in the morning.
The afternoon looks like it’ll be just as hectic, but
I feel that it’s the accumulation of days like this that creates the rhythm of daily life.
Today, too, I’ll take it easy and tackle one thing at a time.
