🌅 Morning Scene|A pleasant 23°C Okinawan morning and cherry blossom buds
Good morning.
This morning in Okinawa is sunny, with a forecast high of 23°C.
Opening the window lets in refreshing air—it’s a lovely morning.

☕ Coffee, Tea, and Father’s Habit
After waking up, I boil water in the kettle—tea for Mother, coffee for me.
Then I offer coffee to Father at the family altar.
Father loved coffee dearly in his lifetime.
He’d have one cup right after waking, another at daycare, and yet another upon returning home.
Three cups a day was his daily ritual.
Even now, the aroma of coffee wafting through the air makes me think of him.
🍞 Last night’s discounted koppepan for breakfast
Last night, the koppepan was on sale at the neighborhood supermarket,
so I made hot dog-style sandwiches with egg, lettuce, and pork luncheon meat.
Mom took just one bite of that,
then had the leftover anpan and banana from last night.
Some days she eats, some days she doesn’t,
but she always eats the banana, so it’s become our household staple.

🧺 The washing machine’s “just right” amount problem and AI’s role
After breakfast, while running the washing machine, Mom remarked,
“You’re putting too much laundry in.”
Mom’s “ideal load” is about 2.5 kg.
I always eyeball it and put in 4-5 kg.
Curious, I looked it up using AI,
and found that for a 6 kg washing machine, 4-5 kg is the manufacturer’s recommended load.
This settles it for now, but Mom will likely forget and say the same thing again.
That, too, is a regular part of our morning routine.

🧹 Mom in a Good Mood This Morning
Maybe because the weather was nice, Mom was in a good mood from the start today,
vacuuming and wandering around the house.
After a while, she’d say “I’m tired,”
and the usual pattern would be her lying down to watch TV.
Seeing her like that, I feel like today has started safely once again.
🍽 After Finishing Morning Chores
After clearing the breakfast table and running the dishwasher,
and giving her medicine, the morning tasks are mostly done.
The laundry was finished, so I hung it out on the balcony.
Stepping outside, it wasn’t cold—just the right temperature for short sleeves and shorts.
A gentle breeze felt pleasant, and the laundry should dry nicely.
🌸 The cherry blossom buds visible from the balcony
While hanging the laundry, I glanced to the side and noticed
the cherry blossom right by the balcony had opened up a bit more.
More petals have appeared since yesterday, and the tips of the buds are starting to turn red.
At this rate, they’ll probably bloom all at once soon—I’m looking forward to it.
The balcony is the perfect “front-row seat.”
For a while now, I’ll be able to enjoy flower viewing every morning without leaving home.

🌤 Taking it slow again today, just another ordinary day
Nothing special happened,
but it was a calm and pleasant morning.
While keeping an eye on my mother’s health,
I plan to take it slow again today.
