🍛 Lunch in Chatan

In the afternoon, we headed to Chatan to avoid the crowds at Kyozuka San-A. First, we had lunch at Coco Ichibanya.

The restaurant was full of foreign tourists, and we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal in a typical Chatan atmosphere.

After lunch, we headed to Hanby San-A in Chatan.

The parking lot was empty, and the store wasn’t crowded, so it was a comfortable shopping experience.

The atmosphere was calm, and we were able to smoothly pick up everything we needed.

I found this San-A bone-in pork steak on the shelf. You don’t see this anywhere else—it’s a product unique to the San-A in Chatan.

After shopping, we took a break at “Coffee Tamumu.”

Mom was able to relax, and it turned into a nice afternoon break.

🚗 The Drive Home and What Happened After We Got Home

On the way back, we took a back road from Kitamae to the bypass, then drove through Ōyama to get home.

There was no traffic, so we made it home smoothly.

Once we got home, Mom fell asleep watching TV in the same position she’d been in since lunch, enjoying a peaceful afternoon.

🌤 Afternoon Weather and Conditions Inside the Car

It wasn’t cold outside, and there was a pleasant breeze.

It was warm enough inside the car that we had to open the windows; the weather was nice enough to drive with the air conditioning off.

🍽️ We had stuffed cabbage rolls for dinner.

I used the large cabbage I bought at the farmers’ market the other day. I carefully peeled off the outer leaves one by one, parboiled them, and wrapped them around a mixture of ground pork and beef.

I simmered them gently with tomato juice, water, and a little granulated dashi stock. As the cabbage softened and absorbed the flavor, a gentle aroma filled the room.

I cut it in half for my mother and served it to her. She ate a lot today.
