🌅 This Morning’s Air and Scenery

I woke up slowly this morning to find the sky clear and the air calm. Neither the cherry trees nor the tips of the bamboo stalks were swaying; it was a quiet morning with almost no wind. I could hear birds chirping in the distance, and when I opened the window on the balcony side, a refreshing breeze flowed in. The weather forecast called for 19°C, a high of 23°C, and winds of 2–4 m/s, but it felt almost completely windless and was a very pleasant morning.

👵 My Mother’s Health and the Morning Routine

My mother also seemed to be in good spirits this morning and got up just once. Thanks to stable atmospheric pressure, she had no headache and finished her breakfast of bread, yogurt, and tea. When I reminded her to take her medicine, she took it without hesitation, and then picked up the vacuum cleaner to start cleaning—she’s fallen into her “good-mood routine.” After this, she plans to use the Quickle Wiper, take a shower, and go to the hair salon, so it looks like she’ll be able to get things done smoothly today.

🌤 The Changing Seasons and the Weather Outside

Lately, we’ve been having days with extreme temperature swings: it’s hot when it’s sunny and chilly when it rains. The direct sunlight is intense—so much so that my arms get sunburned while driving. It’s definitely the season when you can really feel the strength of the UV rays. The cherry blossoms are long gone, and the atmosphere of early summer is growing stronger. Azaleas are blooming in the north, and the “Higashimura Azalea Festival” is currently underway, but when I asked my mother, “Want to go?” she replied, “It’s hard to walk—I’m not going!” It brings back memories of the times we went there when my father was still in good health.

🧺 Progress on Housework and My Morning

I finished the laundry yesterday, so I’m taking a break today. The forecast calls for several days of sunny weather, so I feel a bit more at ease. My mother is in good spirits, and this morning has been calm and unhurried. I’m working on a draft for my blog while checking in on her from time to time. She strikes up conversations with me, and I respond, keeping the relaxed morning rhythm going.

⛽ Gas Prices and a Conversation with AI

Gas prices have been high lately, so I consulted my AI. It turned into a bit of a Zen-like exchange. The AI predicted that prices might drop temporarily by the end of the month because the government is releasing oil reserves. Timing a fill-up is tricky, but the advice was to “check prices frequently and fill up just before they go up.” I won’t know if it works until I try it.

🚁 Futenma Base Noise and Daily Life

Lately, helicopters from Futenma Base have been flying directly overhead on their takeoff and landing routes so frequently that the roar is loud enough to drown out the TV and radio. Perhaps because the Marines are preparing to deploy to the Middle East, there are days when the noise continues until around 10 p.m. Peace is the greatest good, but I’d at least like to spend my evenings in quiet.

✨ Summary

Thanks to the mild weather and my mother’s stable health, I had a leisurely morning today. The season is shifting into early summer, and the scenery outside is changing day by day. While daily life brings worries about noise and rising prices, mornings like this, where I can savor a quiet moment, are truly precious. It looks like I’ll be able to get through today at my own pace, going with the flow.
