🌤 This Morning’s Sky and Air

Good morning.

This morning in Okinawa, the temperature is 21°C, with a gentle breeze blowing. The weather forecast calls for cloudy skies turning to sunny, with a 30% chance of rain and a high of 24°C. The morning air is cool yet refreshing, and I could feel the air in the whole house being completely refreshed the moment I opened the window.

The sun hadn’t yet appeared in the eastern sky, but the light was gradually growing stronger from behind the clouds, and the slightly overcast sky was slowly brightening. As I hung out the laundry and breathed in the morning air, I felt confident that I’d be able to enjoy a pleasant day.

🧺 Morning Chores and a Busy Start

I started the washing machine right after waking up and began preparing breakfast. The forecast calls for sunny weather today, but since it’s supposed to stay cloudy starting tomorrow, I decided to do the laundry thinking, “Today is the only chance.” As I looked up at the sky while the washing machine ran, the clouds were sparse and the sky was slightly overcast. The breeze was pleasant—it was the perfect morning for laundry.

Between doing laundry, preparing meals, taking out the trash, and washing dishes, it was a frantic morning from the start.

Juggling these tasks while writing my blog in between—it was truly a “full-course morning” of activity.

👵 Mom’s Condition and Our Morning Exchange

As usual, when I called out, “Wake up!” she didn’t move. When I called again, she just said, “I’m not getting up!!”

Even so, after calling out to her a few more times, she finally got out of bed—only to say, “I’m going back to sleep.”

When I told her, “Eat breakfast and take your medicine before you go back to sleep,” she finally sat down for breakfast.

She ate half a piece of bread, drank a cup of tea, took her medicine, sat in a chair for a bit to rest, and then said, “I’m going back to sleep,” and returned to bed.

She’s been suffering from migraines due to the low-pressure system, so it looks like today will be a day to take it easy and not push herself.

💻 Computer Class and the Mock Exam

Later today, the **Word mock exam** starts at computer class.

I’ve been practicing every day at home with the AI tutor, but I hear the mock exam at class is formatted more like the real thing. Since I’ve been busy with housework since this morning, I need to switch gears and focus.

This pre-exam hustle and bustle feels like it’s somehow become part of my daily routine.

🌼 Remembering the Ie Island Lily Festival

When this season rolls around, I suddenly remember the **Ie Island Lily Festival**.

About 10 years ago, when my father was still in good health, we went together to the lily fields. The view of the white lilies stretching out as we gazed at the sea was truly breathtaking, and I still remember it vividly.

However, during Golden Week, there are so many tourists that

it gets so crowded you might even

“miss the ferry home.” or “we can’t get on the return ferry,”

it gets that crowded.

Given my mother’s current health, walking around the island might be difficult.

If we were to go,

– arranging a wheelchair

– booking round-trip tickets on the early morning ferry

– or staying overnight

we’d need to plan things out quite carefully.

This year, it might be nice to just look forward to the lilies blooming in the garden nearby.
