🌪️ Weekend Morning — A Day of Strong Winds and Looking After My Health

🌤️ Weather and the Morning

The wind was very strong this morning, and the temperature was around 22°C. The wind was so strong that it was difficult to even step out onto the balcony, so I couldn’t hang the laundry outside. I’ve put a load in the washing machine, but it looks like I’ll have to rely on a laundromat for drying. Since it’s also raining, I felt like it was going to be a day where it would be difficult to go outside in the morning.

🤒 Mom’s Health and This Week’s Conditions

Mom has been complaining of headaches, drowsiness, and feeling unwell since this morning, and she isn’t feeling very well. There have been many days of bad weather this week, and perhaps due to changes in atmospheric pressure, she’s had a string of days where she hasn’t felt her best. She also seems to still be tired from her trip to the Oki Exhibition; she often lies down immediately after returning home from day care, and even had to leave the “Vibrant Exercise Club” and “Century-Old Exercise” sessions early. She woke up several times during the night, took more headache medicine, and made frequent trips to the bathroom; it was a week of her being in a bad mood. Still, there was one day when she was able to walk around with the vacuum cleaner, and seeing her like that gave me some peace of mind. Since Okinawa is about to enter the rainy season, it seems I’ll need to keep a close eye on her health and watch for any changes.

🪦 The Seimei Festival Season

Seimi begins tomorrow in Okinawa. In recent years, more families have been visiting graves during Golden Week, when it’s easier for everyone to gather, so the timeframe for the festival has become more flexible. Our family has decided not to hold a full-scale Seimi ceremony for the next three years, but this year we plan to visit the grave, light some incense, and offer a brief prayer.

🍲 Preparing for the Weekend Meals

I’ve been preparing the soki and daekuni soup (pork spare ribs and daikon radish soup) since yesterday, and I plan to take my time making it today. I hope to spend a relaxing weekend in the kitchen starting this afternoon.

📝 Summary

It looks like it will be a weekend of strong winds and rain, and with my mother’s health being unstable, it will likely be a day where I need to keep a close eye on her. This week has been a rollercoaster of health fluctuations, compounded by fatigue from a string of outings and events. Here in Okinawa, where the rainy season is about to begin, this is also a time when changes in atmospheric pressure can easily cause health issues. It seems best to take it easy within reasonable limits while making progress on Seimi preparations and cooking for the weekend.
