After lunch, when I looked out from the balcony, I saw that there were fewer clouds than in the morning, and a beautiful blue sky stretched out before me. It felt exactly like a “summer sky,” and I couldn’t help but take a photo with my smartphone.
🧺 A Relaxing Afternoon Spent Doing Laundry and Housework
In the afternoon, I ran the washing machine and hung up a small rug to dry. Since it’s a bit thick, it’ll probably take a while to dry, so I decided to leave it out until tomorrow.
The days are getting longer, and I can tell that it’s staying light longer into the evening. The temperature didn’t rise as much as I expected, so it’s comfortable enough indoors even without the air conditioner. Today, I spent my time at home organizing and tweaking my blog. I have a lot to do, but since I can only find time to work on these “quiet days,” it’s a precious day in a way.
As evening approached, it was time to prepare dinner again. Since I live with just my mom, I plan easy-to-eat meals every day while keeping an eye on her health.
I had planned to make minced pork cutlets since the oil was already in the pan, but I realized I didn’t have any breadcrumbs, so I switched to hamburger patties at the last minute. In the end, my mom enjoyed them, so it all worked out just fine.

The air felt like we’d officially entered early summer, and children were playing energetically in the backyard of our apartment complex. I heard them calling out “rock, paper, scissors,” so maybe the upper-grade elementary school kids are about to start a soccer game.

Next Monday, I’m going to “Higa Eye Clinic” in the neighborhood for a checkup regarding my floaters. I called yesterday and was able to get an appointment right away, so I plan to walk there along with my mother’s routine checkup.
They told me, “Since there’s a possibility of laser treatment, we’ll be using anesthesia, so please don’t come by car,” so I feel safer walking there. Higa Eye Clinic is the hospital my father used to go to when he was still in good health, and they provided long-term follow-up care after his surgeries for glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal detachment. It’s a clinic our whole family has relied on.

I’ve cleared away dinner and run the dishwasher, so the day has finally settled down.
