🌡️ This Morning’s Air and Temperature

This morning’s temperature is 22°C, with a forecast high of 23°C—a mild morning with almost no temperature fluctuation. The sky is overcast, and the asphalt is damp, as it seems it rained at dawn. The air is crisp and refreshing; even with the window open, there’s hardly any breeze—it’s so still that it feels even gentler than the soft breeze from a fan. It was a calm morning atmosphere, as if the air in the room were slowly refreshing itself.

🍞 Breakfast and Mom’s Condition

I woke up slowly this morning, spread butter on some bread, and warmed half of Mom’s anpan in the air fryer at 130°C for 4 minutes. The lightly melted butter was just right. I brewed some coffee and woke Mom up; she got out of bed while grumbling, then ate half the anpan, frozen fruit with yogurt, and half a banana. Perhaps because of the cloudy weather, her migraine seemed to be bothering her, so she decided to lie down in bed after eating.

📞 A Change of Pace with a Call from My Aunt

A little while later, my aunt (my mother’s younger sister) called, and we talked for about 15 minutes. Apparently, the conversation was about how “the air conditioner broke, so we’re replacing it.” After hanging up, my mother seemed to feel a little better; she got up and spent some time sitting up.

🛒 Yesterday’s Shopping and Changes at Nishihara Sanei

Yesterday was so busy I couldn’t post in the evening, so I went shopping at Nishihara Sanei. The exterior repairs are finished, and the interior is being renovated area by area; it looks like the specialty store district and food court are getting a makeover. A new Matsumoto Kiyoshi is scheduled to open across from the grocery section, and there’s a sign next to it that looks like a jewelry store. It’s set to open on April 24.

After that, my mom said she wanted gyudon, so we went to “Yoshinoya × Hanamaru Udon” at the Aeon next to Sakata Monorail Station. They were out of noodles, so we had to wait five minutes, but we had a satisfying lunch with hot udon and gyudon.

💻 Today’s Plans and How I’ll Spend the Afternoon

I don’t have any specific plans today, and my mother seems unable to move due to a migraine, so I plan to spend the afternoon setting up my computer and studying. Looking out the window, there’s no wind, and the fresh greenery stands quietly without swaying, which soothes my heart. It looks like today will be another day of taking it slow and making progress on what I can.

🌿 Summary

It was a quiet, windless morning, and the day began slowly as I checked in on my mother’s health. There were small signs of change in daily life, such as the shifts I noticed in the neighborhood during yesterday’s shopping trip and seeing my mother regain a bit of her energy after talking to my aunt on the phone. It looks like I’ll be able to carve out some quiet time for myself this afternoon, so it should be a peaceful day.

Amazon.com: Multi‑Alarm Medication Reminder

I started using this medication reminder for my mother, whose medication times can vary from day to day. The multiple alarm settings make it much easier to manage her schedule, and the sound is soft but easy to hear. Its compact size also makes it convenient to take along when we go out. It’s a small device, but it brings a lot of peace of mind to our daily caregiving routine.

Amazon.com: Alarm‑Integrated Pill Organizer

My mother’s medications have increased recently, and this organizer has been incredibly helpful. Since the pills and the alarm are together, she doesn’t have to search for anything, and it reduces confusion. She often says, “This makes it easier for me,” which reassures me as well. It’s light enough to slip into a bag, making it perfect for days when we have appointments.
