名護へたんかんを買いに出かけ、ちえ食堂の味噌汁を楽しんだ後、八重岳の桜を見てきました。六分咲きの山を母と一緒にゆっくり巡った北部ドライブの記録です。

旧暦12月8日は沖縄の伝統行事「ムーチー」の日。一年の健康を願い、月桃の葉で包んだ餅を食べる風習があります。昔の手作りの思い出や近年の変化、今年選んだ黒糖ムーチーについて紹介します。

January 16 is Okinawa’s “Heavens New Year,” a day to honor ancestors. This year marks my father’s first New Year in the afterlife, and I share how we prepared offerings and spent the day.
