⏰ A day that started earlier than usual
Good morning.
I woke up a little earlier than usual this morning.
Usually, even if I set my alarm for 6:00 a.m., I end up lazing around in bed,
and before I know it, it’s often nearly 7:30 a.m.,
but today was a morning where **my body naturally woke up at 6:40 a.m.**
Since I’d decided the previous day based on the weather forecast that I’d “wash the blankets,”
I started the washing machine as soon as I got up and began my day breathing in the quiet morning air.
The temperature was **23°C, sunny, with winds of 3–4 m/s**.
That said, I hardly felt any wind at all,
and when I opened the balcony and front doors, fresh air slowly flowed into the house,
creating a pleasant sensation as if the air in the entire room had been gently refreshed.
The morning air was a bit chilly,
and the sound of the washing machine spinning echoed pleasantly through the quiet room.
On mornings like this, I naturally feel like it’s going to be a good day.

👵 My mother’s peaceful morning and a leisurely breakfast
While I was boiling water, my mother woke up naturally.
Unusually for her, she didn’t complain and got up without fuss.
Usually she’d say, “I’m going back to sleep,” but
this morning she sat in a chair drinking tea and quietly watching the morning TV.
Breakfast:
– Me: Bread, coffee, omelet, bacon, croissant
– Mom: Green tea, omelet, croissant, bacon

After taking a sip to wet our throats, we began eating slowly,
took her medicine and checked her blood pressure without a hitch,
and then moved right into our usual routine with a calm flow.
When Mom spends her mornings peacefully,
my own feelings naturally relax as well.
Just feeling that “today is a good day”
makes the atmosphere in the house feel a little brighter.

🧺 The Rhythm of Laundry and Housework
I hung up the first load of laundry, then started the second load in the washing machine while I cleared the dishes.
I hung the blankets out on the balcony after they finished washing.
It’s become too difficult for my mother to hang up the blankets on her own anymore.
I’ve taken on most of the cooking and housework, including the regular laundry.
“I’ll just ask her to do what she can.”
We’re managing our days without strain, maintaining that balance.
As I go about my chores, I’m suddenly struck by the reality
that the things my mother “can do” are gradually dwindling.
Still, I believe that continuing to do what we can, one thing at a time,
is the shape of our life right now.
🌞 The Morning Sky and Today’s Plans
As I hung up the laundry and looked up at the sky,
it was sunny despite the clouds,
and the sun’s strong rays were streaming onto the balcony.
It’s warm enough during the day that I’ll need sunscreen and long sleeves.
I don’t have any specific shopping plans for today,
but if my mother says she wants to go out, I plan to take her somewhere.
Once the rainy season starts, it becomes harder to go out,
and the number of days I suffer from migraines increases,
so I hope to take a walk to maintain my stamina, even if just a little, on days when I’m feeling well.

💡 Morning Light and Room Brightness
By the time I’m running the second load of laundry, it’s gotten quite bright outside,
enough that plenty of light comes in even with the lights off in the Japanese-style room.
When it’s this bright from the morning,
I feel like “summer is approaching.”
Lately, the sun has been rising earlier,
and my morning routine has naturally started earlier as well.
Get moving early, rest early.
I feel like that rhythm is starting to suit my body.

🌸 Seasonal Changes Visible from the Balcony
The cherry tree visible from the balcony is now in the season of beautiful fresh greenery.
The **cherries, which had been bearing red fruit until just the other day, have completely disappeared**,
and I can’t find them anywhere, no matter how hard I look.
Since birds were visiting frequently until last week,
they must have eaten them all.
The small patch of nature on my balcony gently reminds me of the changing seasons.

🌈 Have a wonderful day today
It’s been bright since morning, with a gentle breeze,
and I started the day feeling like, “I think I can really tackle this today.”
My mother is in good spirits, the housework is going smoothly,
and as I give thanks for this quiet, peaceful morning,
I want to make the most of today as well.
I hope you have a wonderful day too.
